Hello, my fellow brother and sister Cursillistas — DeColores
My name is Diana Overton. I attend St. Mark’s in north Tampa. In the fall of 2019, I received a call from our Secretariat asking me if I would accept the invitation to be Rectora for the weekend in the fall of 2020. As I prayed about this blessed opportunity, I asked the Lord if I could do this. He answered me saying: “No you can’t, but I can.” I’m so blessed, humbled and privileged to having been called to be God’s co-pilot on His weekend #146.
A little about myself. I made my Cursillo many, many years ago in the Diocese of Southeast Florida. As with so many of us, I encountered Jesus in such a wonderfully new way. He poured His unconditional love into my heart and changed my life forever. Then He laid a path before me leading to an amazing new journey and relationship with my new friend and Lord, Jesus Christ.
As we all are aware, the last Cursillo weekend was held in February 2020 and Covid-19 cancellations started in March of that same year. We continued to wade through the aftermath of the pandemic anxieties causing several Cursillo weekends to be postponed. As those anxieties have somewhat relaxed, finally, Alleluia, Cursillo #146 has been scheduled to be held on October 6th through the 9th this year 2022 (God’s perfect time).
I pray that God’s glory will be revealed as we join together in the strength of our Lord and Savior to stand against any obstacles that are put in our way. He will renew our strength. As Isaiah 40:31 says: “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” We will renew our strength on wings of eagles.
I am reaching out to all of you to earnestly pray and discern whether you have a Holy Spirit nudge to join the team of #146. The theme for #146 is “As the Deer” – such a glorious song. Our souls do longeth after Him. He alone is our heart’s desire and we long to worship Him.
I would love to receive your team application. Also, it’s not too early to think about Pilgrims. If each parish will send just one pilgrim, we will be overflowing with God’s grace.
I await in prayer and anxious anticipation to see Our Lord weave the together the team and pilgrims of #146.
Blessings and Love-
Diana Overton
