My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My name is Pamela Monroe, and I made my Cursillo at Dayspring in October 2013, weekend #125 and I sat with the family of St Luke. I worship at All Souls Church in North Fort Myers since my husband and I relocated to Florida from Massachusetts in 2010.
All Souls community quickly became my extended family. One day they were talking about the Cursillo ministry, and it piqued my interest. The seed had been planted. My husband Rich had attended Cursillo shortly after he was ordained a Roman Catholic Deacon and suggested it was time for me to go. Well, it changed my life in so many ways.
I realized that I too could work for Christ with the gifts I had been given from God. God had a plan for me and with His help all things were possible. Cursillo brightened my world, and I had a purpose now and that was to be the light of Christ to those around me – “Here I Am Lord”.
I have worked on multiple teams since my weekend, and each one has deepened my relationship with Christ. I am humbled and honored to be called to serve as Rectora for Cursillo #154 – Sept 17 to 20, 2026.
When I received the call to serve as Rector, I began praying that God would reveal to me what He wanted the pilgrims to hear on this weekend. Not a surprise, He clearly gave me the words “Seek ye First”. It wasn’t what I had in mind, but I have learned that to be a follower of Christ it’s not about what I want it’s about spreading the word of God. So, there you go the theme of the weekend will be “Seek ye First, the Kingdom of God” (Matthew 6:33).
